Taken from "Final Burn's" topic and since English is not Huno's native language (nor it is mine BTW
![]() Huno has ported more tha 100 games or emulators, optimized them, made them work with Wazp3D (thank Alain !) for those requiring simple 2D MiniGL/Warp3D for their display, created some really nice apps (OSDLauncher for example), worked with ACube (and several beta testers) to launch the Game DVD Bundle, etc... He ported the BoostyGraphics library and created a new simple Joystick library allowing any Keyboard game to use a joystick/joypad (with very little modifyong of the game source code). For many years, he spent most of his free time (thank to his wife Claire and his two sons for this allowed time) to work on AmigaOS 4 (and some MorphOS) projects. Now he is, like many developpers, disapointed by so few feedbacks. All in all, since the beginning of his work some yeard ago, he got 46 donators. But it's not the most important. This donations are not that important anyway (it helps buying some hardware to enhance Huno's work). The most important is to know if there is still interest in his work. So I'd like to ask some questions : * Are you still interested in gaming projects from Huno? * Do you play Huno's game ? * What could refrain you from playing or using Huno's games/apps ? The whole games/apps list form huno is here : http://www.clubevolution4.com/HunoPortSDL/index1.php He opened a survey (on his forum for registered users) to know which Amiga NG you're using : HERE It's not a trial, I ask all this only to help Huno go in the right direction. Maybe some things prevent Amigans to enjoy his work, I just want to know (for those interested in his work of course) what they are. |

Yes, I value his games. I have donated twice and bought his games DVD.
I find his website hard to navigate, particularly the forum section. It is a mess. Because of this I avoid reporting issues there. If the forum section was better I would give more feedback. * Are you still interested in gaming projects from Huno? Yes! * Do you play Huno's game ? Yes but only when time allows. Some of the game genres are not for me. * What could refrain you from playing or using Huno's games/apps ? Limited time. Lack of fast hardware 3D support in AOS4 Even on the X1000 things are slow because of the weak 33mhz PCI slot. |

* Are you still interested in gaming projects from Huno?
Yes, I`am * Do you play Huno's game ? Not every game because i´m more kind of casual gamer. Another story is the fact that wapz3d isn´t running that smooth on my NG, maybe wit hnew RadeonHD-Driver i will dig into the World of 3D Edoshooters again ![]() It´s not Hunos fault at all! * What could refrain you from playing or using Huno's games/apps ? I´m father with two kids too like Huno. A big great respect to him to find the patience and time to make such huge abount of releases for our beloved AmigaOS. |

@K-L
I was under the impression that his games/ports were well received. I haven't had much time to try them out myself, but I think that it's great how many games he has released. If Huno want's to take a break and/or do something else with his time, then he should do so. Hans |

I've played much many of Huno's ports (when time allows it), donated a couple of times and will do so again in the future. I believe Huno's work is of great value to our community. He's pretty much the main source of games for AOS4.1 so that speaks volumes by itself.
I really hope his mood won't keep him from continuing his job. So, a big thumbs up to Huno! |

* Are you still interested in gaming projects from Huno? Yes, sure ! It's the only one to make games for free and to make very good ports. * Do you play Huno's game ? Mainly my 4 year old son. Frogatto is his favorite game. Me, I begin to search for all Megadrive games that I missed thanks to FBA. * What could refrain you from playing or using Huno's games/apps ? Lack of visibility of Huno's website. Lack of 3D support on NG computers (R9250 is a pain to use) but hopefully FBA works well on no-Warp3D compatibles Amiga-NG Courage, Hugues, gardes le bon travail ![]() |

This is what I wanted to read.
![]() Huno's website and forum seem to be hard to read for many people. We'll have to see how to help him improve it. |

Hi Huno,
The layout feels very different to other forums. This makes it feel unintuitive to use. I find the sidebar and large forum icons to be distracting. They break up the flow of the page making it difficult to scan read. If you used a standard forum layout it would help. |

ddni : Thanks. I feel the same way. I think a redesign of the forum could be a nice way to enhance it. It shoulf be simpler to browse without all the fancy things displayed.
Huno : no problem ![]() |

@K-L
* Are you still interested in gaming projects from Huno? absolutely. i'm a huge fan of FPS games, and have been hoping for darkplaces for years. i always look forward to trying any new significant port from huno since i know the quality will be exceptional. * Do you play Huno's games ? yes, many of them. i was one of the first people to purchase the acube DVD compilation once it was available for purchase as a download, and enjoy his FPS, platformer, and shoot-em-up ports tremendously. * What could refrain you from playing or using Huno's games/apps ? at the moment, nothing. in the future i'll be transitioning to a X5000 which will mean not having 3D compatibility, at least for a while. i'll be using a dual-card setup with a 9250, so hopefully that will work, but, well, i can't think of anything that would keep me from gaming at the moment. just that one possibility. -- eliyahu |
