As we have now a lot of cards to choice for new warp3d driver, imho will be nice to know, what one in _reality_ (i mean, in real live, and from os4 side, not by some theoretic bench-marking on PC or from PC ezines), be faster one. Plz, help to fill the table !
My bet is that we can just test those ones: 1). Quake3 (usual "timedemo 1 / demo four"). Be sure it is IOquake from HunoPPC (download it here). Test mode: 1280x1024 2). Cow3D (just default run. _without_ pressing "b"). Please be sure you do tests on os4.1 final edition. All tests done on minigl 2.20 and w3d_si 1.9 So by collecting 5-10 results, we at least can see the winner and everyone can choice the best card. Current table: 1. Owner: spectre660 HW: Sam460ex with Radeon HD7750 quake3 timedemo1: ~30fps cow3d: 114-119FPS 2. Owner: zzd10h HW: X1000 with R7-250X quake3 timedemo1: ~51fps cow3d: 90-95FPS 3. Owner: imagodespira HW: Sam460 with Club3D Radeon R7 250E quake3 timedemo1: ~20FPS cow3d: ??? 4. Owner: mufa HW: X1000 with Gigabyte R9 270 quake3 timedemo1: 53 FPS cow3d: ??? 5. Owner: Sinan HW: Sam460 with Asus R7 265 quake3 timedemo1: 26 FPS cow3d: 130FPS 6. Owner: Breed HW: X1000 with Radeon HD 7750 quake3 timedemo1: 41FPS cow3d: 90-95FPS 7. Owner: m3x HW: Sam460cr 1.1Ghz with Radeon HD 7750 quake3 timedemo1: 26 fps cow3d: 144 fps. 8 Owner: rob HW: X1000 with Radeon R9 280 @ 850Mhz quake3 timdemo1: ??? cow3d = ~94fps 9 Owner : Matt (Amikit) HW: X5000 with XFX RadeonHD 7770 quake3 timedemo1: ??? cow3d: ~230fps 10 Owner: ddni HW: x1000 with Radeon R9 270X 1000MHz Core, 1050MHz Boost, 5600MHz Memory quake3 timedemo1: 52.3 cow3d: ??? 11 Owner: Sofistisoftware HW: Sam460ex 1.15 Ghz with Club3D Radeon R7 250E quake3 timedemo1: 27.1 cow3d: 137 12 Owner: TiredOfLife HW: Sam460cr with Radeon HD7770 quake3 timedemo1: ??? cow3d: 120 13 ... Added new results, but be sure that quake3 are the same for everyone: IoQuake from HunoPPC. |

I'd be interested to know why the SAMs with 7750 cards are so much better with the Cow, than the same cards on the X1000... edit: Punctuation and spelling |

As i found in google, even if ppls says that R7-250 are "rebranded 7750" , it is still slower than real HD7750. For example: there some compassion. Of course it is tests from windows, but at least there it also show that r7-250 a little slower than real hd7750. Also probably zzd10h tests done on update6, and not on FE, maybe also related. |

Quote: Quake 3 Arena - 26fps Ok but at what resolution and what version of Quake 3 ? Please be specific, altrough it is not clear at all ![]() Those are the general settings you should set: Quote: --------------------------------- For example on my little Sam440 Flex 800 + Radeon 9250 i have those results: Quote: 640x480 - 21,3/21,9 FPS Do the same with your computer + gfx |

"Also probably zzd10h tests done on update6" No, it was under FE. Warp3D doesn't work under 4.1.6. Where to download Cow3D and is the resolution matter ? Mine is 1920x1080 32bits |

@Raziel & kas1e
Actually, it should depend on which R7 250 is being used. The 250X is like a rebranded 8760 or 7770 (Cape Verde XT chipset). The difference is that the 250X has 4.5GHz memory instead of 1125MHz. The R7 250E is supposed to be a rebranded HD 7750 (Cape Verde PRO). The results of the 250E being slower than the 7750 seems strange given the difference in memory speed is again that of 4.5GHz versus 1125MHz. With that said, I've seen sites that say the effective memory speed of the 7750 is actually 4.5GHz, not 1125MHz. If that is the case, then there should be little difference between the two. I've seen single slot variants of both the HD 7750 and R7 250E. Since the above tests suggest the 7750 is faster, and the price is slightly lower than the 250E, I may have to change my plans for my next graphics card purchase. |

@interrogative
True, there are differences in the cards, but just look at the entries 1 and 6...both have the same card, but the Sam practically stomps the X1000 |

@zzd10h
Resolution doesn't matter, i tried, window size stays the same, so it's probably because of that |

thanks for the confirmation, it was the version that I had. @Raziel, true, tried in 1920x1080 or 1440x900, still 95 fps. |

Hello
Note that Cow3D is a pure Warp3D prog (No MiniGL nor GL nor Mesa inside) So with Cow3D you benchmark the cpu_doing_the_rotation + warp3D_drawing_speed When typing the key 'b' you bufferize all the rotations vertices ( I mean the CPU no more compute the rotation) So then benchmark only the warp3D_drawing_speed Alain Thellier - Cow3D & Wazp3D BTW Does someone tested the Microbe3D's Demo-View tool with this new Warp3D ? |

"BTW Does someone tested the Microbe3D's Demo-View tool with this new Warp3D ?" Yes, I tested it, Bears or all your others animated objects work fine. (RxMicrobe3D too) |
