I have asked this to gpsoft, the owner of Directory Opus Magellan II:
The other question is, would it be possible to open the source (f.e. for using it in Aros) and how much would you want to have for it? I would ask to make a bounty for it, perhaps there is enough interest. And the answer was: For the source, we would want something like A$5-10K. What do you think? Should we make a bounty? |

@Olaf
I don't understand, I thought there was already a company that managed to get source access in order to port it to AOS4 (wasn't it GuruMeditation.se?). In all cases I think the biggest problem would be to find a developer to work on the port, and if you know someone, maybe he could try to contact the aforementioned company... |

I have this ok by email and forworded the correspondence to power2people. I have not a signed written contract because I do trust GPSoft and who will do the lawsuit in australia even if there is one.

@all
We already collect 2800$ (from the necessary 5600). What mean that we already collect 50%. But to speedup everything, we will try to ask GPSoft to open the sources just for 3000, and not for 5000 as was in the deal (worth of try). So, we just need 200-300 more (3000 + cover pp fees) and we will try to contact with them again about. Maybe we will lucky enough. Bounty placed here |
